I had a lot of stuff to do today, but you know what I did instead?

I took a nap. =)

This TikTok/Instagram audio has been running on my mind for the past week because I did just that: I took a nap every day of Spring Break. It was lovely. And refreshing. But most of all, restful.

There’s something renovating in resting. After my daily nap I usually felt more creative and with a renewed desire to continue the academic journey I’m on. I have to admit, the above doesn’t mean that I took care of all the things I needed to or started on my dissertation or anything of that sort. I stuck to my guns and truly took my spring break.

I’m excited to to get back into the rhythm of the semester. I have exciting things coming up in the next weeks and months. CFC (Collegiate Fencinc Clubs) Nationals in Indiana, turning in my reading lists, submitting my abstract for a journal’s special edition on “Children at War,” an author visit in NYC, a conference in Seattle where I’m presenting a paper on children and natural disasters, and more.

Just thinking about it all makes me tired. It’s a good thing I took a nap.
